POTATOES ANYONE?

Last year my friend, Jen, called and asked if we'd like to sell potatoes.  They had a connection with a farmer in Idaho.  I said "no", but I'd ask the kids.  When they heard how much they'd earn per bag, they were in.  This year Jen called to see if we wanted to sell potatoes again.  I told her "no", but I'd ask the kids.  You guessed it, they said yes.  Taylor and Madelyn are budding entrepreneurs, money definately motivates them.  I got thinking that the kids had not asked for money for a whole year.  They used their own money for movies, christmas gifts, extra clothes, etc.  Giving them the gift of learning how to work is worth the pain of selling potatoes.

5 pallets of 50 pound bags fills half a garage in case you were wondering.  We had 188 bags of potatoes that needed a home.  I posted on Facebook, the kids went door to door, we borrowed the in-laws truck and parked on a main road on Saturdays.  We just sold our last bag and the money was divided and distributed.  I'm looking forward to another year of not being asked for money.  I guess we're in the potatoe business.
